WIXOM, Michigan, September 5, 2024鈥擪awasaki Robotics will demonstrate new additions to its extensive robotics portfolio, including the new CL Series of intelligent collaborative robots (cobots), at IMTS in Chicago September 9-14. The 168网开奖查询记录结果:CL Series cobots, available for order in multiple payloads, and the new industrial robotic solutions featured for applications such as welding, machine tending and material removal give manufacturers limitless flexibility and advanced capabilities when choosing automation to meet their diverse needs.
鈥淜awasaki Robotics is committed to delivering the advanced automation technology manufacturers need to maintain production schedules without having to compromise quality or safety,鈥?said Seiji Amazawa, president, Kawasaki Robotics. 鈥淲e lead the robotics industry by collaborating with innovative partners such as AMT, Hurco, 168网开奖查询记录结果:Wau搜索引擎优化n Machine and 168网开奖查询记录结果:NEURA Robotics, integrating our technology with theirs to harness the best in human ingenuity.鈥?/p>
鈥淲ith our CL Series cobots, we鈥檙e entering a new era of collaborative automation,鈥?Amazawa said. 鈥淏y providing advanced capabilities along with industrial scale performance and speed as standard features, we boost productivity, improve product quality and worker safety, and reduce rework requirements. Our entirely new way and agile approach to collaborative robots enables manufacturers to more easily address labor shortages while yielding excellent return on investment.鈥?/p>

Robotic Machine Tending Shelf System: This turnkey, no code, easy-to-set-up robotic machine tending solution using a modular shelf system for part feeding was developed in partnership with Hurco, a developer of CNC machining equipment. The demo features a Kawasaki RS013N robot, 16 workpieces鈥攆our fixtured to pallets and 12 held in 5th Axis LiteVises and a Hurco VM15Di CNC machine that is all operated using Hurco鈥檚 WinMax CNC Controls. The system was designed to keep up with customer demand for high-mix, low-volume parts manufacturing without the need to learn how to program a robot. Ultimately, machinists receive a safe solution that can handle a range of part sizes and volumes and can expand capacity to meet highly specific application needs.

Welding Robots: Delivering top performance since the 1960s, these arc welding robots use state-of-art technology to increase quality and efficiency. New models being featured at IMTS include the BA013N and BA013L with built-in intelligence, real-time path modification, and adaptive arc welding and RTPM capabilities to help manufacturers improve quality and meet production goals.
Robofin: Developed in partnership with AMT and NEFF Automation, this versatile robotic material removal solution solves various finishing needs. RoboFin can handle diverse materials and surface types, increase abrasive life up to 3X, and provide unrivaled precision and consistency to deliver the same high-quality output every time.
K-Positioners: These positioners enable robots to easily manipulate workpiece position to ensure the welding torch is positioned at the optimal angle and distance for consistent, high-quality welds. By automating workpiece movement, positioners speed up the welding process, reducing overall cycle times while at the same time reducing the need for reworking.
K-Tracks: Incorporating K-tracks simplifies the reconfiguration of production lines and reduces the overall number of robots required as a single robot can now accommodate different products and processes. This flexibility is crucial in today鈥檚 fast-paced and ever-changing market conditions, enabling manufacturers to adapt quickly to new demands, requirements, and opportunities

“We launch the Astorino with a clear goal: to advance industrial robotics education,” said Paul Marcovecchio, Director 鈥?General Industries, Kawasaki Robotics (USA), Inc. “With this new cost-effective and dynamic robotic platform, we eliminate many barriers to entry that have kept educators from providing advanced robotics design tools to their students. Our accessible price point and ease of use will enable more educators to offer the valuable hands-on experiences so critical to success in today鈥檚 manufacturing environments.”
At the core of Astorino is a 1kg payload, 6-axis robot with a structure and programming environment nearly identical to that of a Kawasaki industrial robot. Weighing only 12 kg and powered by a 110V outlet, the robot is adaptable to any classroom environment. The Astorino platform includes a built-in control system; dedicated firmware and software; Modbus TCP and USB/Ethernet communication, and safety functions such as E-Stop and safety brakes. Motor control uses three signals (pulse/direction/enable) and steel gears reduce backlash to <5 arcmin. The robot is flexible and can also be paired with multiple options such as three kinds of grippers, a 24V IO module, a cube feeder with optical sensors and external sensors.

At a base price of $5000, educators can now afford to provide a low student-to-equipment ratio so each student can spend more time directly working with the robots. This interactive learning approach not only increases knowledge retention in areas such as mechatronics and programming but also provides a comprehensive view of robotic systems. This prepares students of all levels for real-world application environments while sparking their interest in the field.

“Not only do we provide state-of-the-art robots, tools and training to our customers, but Astorino is further proof of our commitment to helping prepare the next generation of technicians, operators and engineers,” Marcovecchio said. “With Astorino and our extensive training resources, like-minded educators can take their teaching to a higher, more interactive level as they prepare the next generation of workers.”
The Astorino educational robotics platform can be experienced in 168网开奖查询记录结果:Kawasaki Robotics鈥?booth 鈥?121415 – in the IMTS Smartforce Student Summit. More details are also available at //www.kawasakirobotics.us/.
